In the wake of the New York Jets releasing QB/Drama Queen Brett Favre, I have but one thing to say.
Here we freaking go again.
When Favre retired (for the second time) this past February, the Jets then, as was the case now, had no reason to release the QB. So why the sudden change of heart?
Favre, and agent Bus Cook (the same agent for Jay Cutler), have both come out and said that Queen Brett has no intentions of playing football again. Supposedly the only reason the Jets released Favre was so that he could sign a ceremonial one day contract with Green Bay, and retire a Packer.
In my opinion…bulls–t!
Favre said the same thing about returning to football last year after “retiring”, only to accept a trade to the Jets…even though he was hoping to suit up for the Vikes.
Now that he’s free and clear from the Jets, Favre is able to sign with Minnesota–or any other team he so wishes.
So it’s gone from the annual “Brett Favre Retirement Watch” to the annual “Brett Favre Unretirement Watch.” Mark my words…come September, it’s quite likely Brett Favre is wearing #4 and throwing picks for the Vikings.
Update: Pro Football Talk is reporting that a plane from Minneapolis flew into the Hattiesburg Airport (that’s in Mississippi kids) today, then took off and flew back to Minneapolis. On the surface this may not seem like much until you remember who resides in Hattiesburg…
One Brett Favre.
