The mother of Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain was arrested last Saturday for attempting to sell a gram of meth to an undercover cop.
Jacqueline Standley, 44, has been charged with delivery of an exceptionally hazardous drug, a class 2 felony punishable by 1 to 50 years in prison.
She was arraigned in the same Lincoln, Nebraska courtroom that her son was in when he pleaded guilty to drunken-driving charges.
Chamberlain spoke about his mother’s arrest after the Yankees lost to the Red Sox Monday night. “She’s still my mom and I still love her,” he said. “That’s the long and short of it. You handle it. You’ve only got one mom, man. You have to be thankful for her, love her and pray for her.”
A word of warning–do not look directly at the picture of Joba’s mother, unless you enjoy the taste of your own vomit. [NY Daily News]
