South Carolina Gamecocks Congratulated for…Mediocrity?

How bad is the athletic program at the University of South Carolina?

I could’ve done intensive research into the history of the football, basketball and baseball programs since the Gamecocks joined the SEC.

Thankfully I didn’t have to.

The State, South Carolina’s largest newspaper, took out a full page ad recently to “congratulate” the USC Gamecocks.

For achieving .500 seasons in three separate sports, in the same season.  In other words…mediocrity.

If this is the measuring stick USC is using to determine the success of their athletic programs, yikes.  Not good…not many championships are won with .500 seasons.
