Update on McNair Shooting Death

Updated information concerning Steve McNair’s shooting death…

McNair died from multiple gunshots, the 20 year old female victim died of one gunshot wound to the head.

A gun had been found lying near the female victim.

McNair’s friend and bodyguard, Robert Gaddy, found the bodies and called police, at or around 1:35 p.m.

The female victim has been identified.

She is Sahel Kazemi, McNair’s supposed girlfriend, and the driver of an SUV registered to McNair and Kazemi that was pulled over by police 2 days ago on Broadway.  Kazemi was charged with DUI and failing to take a breathalyzer test.

According to police, McNair’s wife, Mechelle McNair is not a suspect.  Mechelle told WSMV-TV that she hadn’t heard from her husband in a couple of days.

Finally there is an odd story from the Nashville Post.  Apparently McNair and some friends were out celebrating the 4th of July holiday at the Blue Moon Restaurant when a Caucasian woman in her 20′s, standing approximately 5-foot-4, approached McNair and accused him of slipping her a “roofie,” otherwise known as Rohypnol, at a party a year ago.

The woman then threatened McNair, saying that her boyfriend was going to kill him.

Very odd indeed, and so far there’s been no connection between the woman in the restaurant and McNair’s death.  However, the fact that McNair suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and the female victim had only one, seems on the surface that this may be a murder/suicide.  Hopefully suspects and/or witnesses are rounded up to shed some light on what happened.
