The inevitable finally happened. Steve Phillips was officially fired by ESPN after his affair with Brooke Hundley came to light.
The announcement came late Sunday night, on VP Mike Soltys’ Twitter page. He cites Phillips’ inability to be an effective representative for the network.
So lets see…not only does Steve Phillips have to suffer the ignominy of being caught in an extra-marital affair with a less-than-attractive underling, he also gets sued for divorce by his wife, then loses his high profile gig at ESPN.
Think he’s regretting sexing up Brooke Hundley?
Here’s Soltys’s twitter feed…
Expect the official announcement from Bristol some time tomorrow. [Awful Announcing]
Update: According to SI’s Jon Heyman, Steve Phillips has entered an inpatient treatment facility to address his personal issues.
