Gunshot Victim Says N.Y. Cops Called Him “Plaxico”

Christian Dudley

Want to know what’s worse than getting mugged while visiting your cousin in East Harlem.

Getting shot in the back and having the bullet lodge in your knee.

Which is what happened to Christian Dudley, an 18-year-old kid from Manhattan.

That’s pretty shitty right.  Wait, it gets better (or worse if your Dudley).

Seems the cops didn’t buy the “mugging” story, especially after noticing the lack of a bullet hole in his upper leg.  Dudley thinks his already low-riding pants fell down during the ambush.

But the boys in blue arrested Dudley for criminal possession of a weapon, charging he suffered a self-inflicted wound.  They hauled his ass to their downtown precinct…where the fun began.

For the cops, not for Dudley.

Dudley alleges the police called him “Plaxico” several times,  a reference to former NY Giants receiver Plaxico Burress, who shot himself in the leg last year.

“As soon as I went into the precinct and I had the cuffs on they said, ‘Oh, is this Plaxico?’” Dudley said. “And then when I was in the cell, while they processed me, they called me Plaxico, making fun of me.”

Sounds like a very douchebag thing to do, especially since the charges against Dudley were dropped.

And now Dudley wants to get paid–to the tune of a $1,000,000 lawsuit against the city.

What it will boil down to is the word of an 18-year-old, basketball playing, non-gun owning, college bound kid, versus the New York City Police Department.

My money’s on the kid. [NY Daily News via You Been Blinded]
