First things first…they play hockey in fucking Idaho?

I know two things about Idaho…they grow a shitload of potatoes, and now this.

Following in the footsteps of the Tampa Bay Lightning messing around with a “strip shootout,” a junior hockey team from Idaho, the Idaho Junior Steelheads, played a little “strip hockey” themselves.

Unlike Martin St. Louis and the Lightning, the Steelheads got themselves in some trouble.

The game was simple–miss a shot, shed an article of clothing.  Which was fine, until the boys got down to their underwear.  Then it became a problem–to the families on an adjacent rink.  Apparently a young girl saw the guys skating around in their unmentionables, and mentioned it to her mom, who then called the “dudes are skating in their underwear” city hotline.

The team was banished from using the city-owned rink for four days.  One skater who mooned another may even be in more hot water–along with the city’s suspension, the 17-year-old was also punished by the team for, as owner John Oliver put it, not living up to the player’s code of conduct.

But wait, there’s more.  Now the cops are involved, to see if any of Boise’s public decency laws were violated.

Still, despite the penalty, the Steeleheads are already better than the Leafs. [Idaho Statesman]
