You’re team’s an embarrassing 0-6. For the first time in a long time you’re on the coaching hot seat. Your season’s totally in the shitter.
So what do you do to save face?
Well, if you’re Jeff Fisher, you don a Peyton Manning jersey.
Wait…what?
Fisher was on hand to introduce former Colts coach Tony Dungy at the Rally for Rocketown at Lipscomb University. To surprise Dungy, Fisher disrobed to show the Indianapolis Colts jersey he was wearing.
After taking a few seconds to prance around the stage, amid much laughter I might add, Fisher said “I just wanted to feel like a winner.”
It goes without saying that Titans message boards all over the interweb exploded with outcry and rage from the Titans fans, many of whom are calling for owner Bud Adams to fire Fisher. Now.
Overreaction? Sure, but Fisher is a bright enough guy to know that pulling a stunt like this, even in jest, would draw the ire of Titans fans, as well as raise a few eyebrows in the front office.
I’m sure it won’t be long before we get the obligatory Jeff Fisher apology press conference. [Nashville Tennessean via Sports By Brooks]
