I still can’t believe the Denver Broncos are 4-0, but there they are amongst the undefeated.  They proved a lot in their win over the Cowboys.

But can they keep it going?

The other big story is the Browns trading WR Braylon Edwards to the Jets.  Is this the beginning of some major housecleaning?

Here we go…

1. N.Y. GIANTS (4-0)

Luckily for the team they go into the bye week, I mean they get the Raiders at home.  Eli Manning’s foot is a cause for concern. (next game vs. Oakland)

2. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (4-0)

Peyton continues to be the man in Indy.  Defense is playing extremely well.  Everything going right for the Colts. (next game @ Tennessee)

3. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (4-0)

Big win on Monday night against Favre’s old team, but even better than Brett was that night, Jared Allen was a monster.  Early contender for defensive POY. (next game @ St.Louis)

4. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (4-0)

Big win against a tough Jets team.  Improved defense is a nice surprise for coach Sean Payton.  Team can win even when Brees is average…which isn’t often. (next game BYE)

5. DENVER BRONCOS (4-0)

Some say they’re the worst 4-0 team, but hey, they are still 4-0.  Defense is outstanding, and they will have to be again against the surging Patriots.  Kyle Orton is this team’s Trent Dilfer. (next game vs. New England)

6. N.Y. Jets (3-1)

It’s hard to believe Mark Sanchez is a rookie…until last game.  More of an aberration than anything.  This team is good, and got better with addition of Edwards. (next game @ Miami)

7. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (3-1)

Tom Brady is getting all the calls his way.  But it looks like he’s rounding into form.  Huge game on the road against a surprising (to say the least) Broncos squad. (next game a@ Denver)

8. BALTIMORE RAVENS (3-1)

Battle for AFC North supremacy this weekend against Cincy.  Secondary needs to come around.  Still an all-around fantastic team. (next game vs. Cincinnati)

9. ATLANTA FALCONS (2-1)

Coming off the bye week helps as they travel to San Fran.  Run defense needs work. (next game @ San Francisco)

10. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (2-1)

Philly gets a huge boost with the return of Donovan McNabb.  Hopefully the week off helped RB Brian Westbrook heal up. (next game vs. Tampa Bay)

11. CINCINNATI BENGALS (3-1)

Squeaked one out in the battle of Ohio.  Now they have to go on the road to face a tough division opponent.  Could be undefeated if not for the week one miracle by the Broncos. (next game @ Baltimore)

12. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (3-1)

Mike Singletary has done a great job with this team.  Early candidate for coach of the year.  Big test at home against the Falcons. (next game vs. Atlanta)

13. CHICAGO BEARS (3-1)

We have a Matt Forte sighting!  Granted it was against the Lions, but still, the Bears have to be happy he returned to form last week.  Jay Cutler is the real deal. (next game BYE)

14. PITTSBURGH STEELERS (2-2)

Took out their frustrations on San Diego last week.  Rashard Mendenhall stepped in nicely for Willie Parker at running back.  Need to work on the pass rush though. (next game @ Detroit)

15. GREEN BAY PACKERS (2-2)

The defense has tailed off the last few weeks.  The offensive line needs work…Aaron Rodgers is great, but he can’t continue to take a beating like he did on Monday night. (next game BYE)

16. DALLAS COWBOYS (2-2)

Too inconsistent.  Tony Romo continues to baffle me–how do you throw in Champ Bailey’s direction on the last play of the game?  Dumb, dumb, dumb. (next game @ Kansas City)

17. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (2-2)

Had their asses handed to them by Pittsburgh.  Things are uneasy in San Diego…could Shawn Merriman be on the move?  (next game BYE)

18. ARIZONA CARDINALS (1-2)

Coming off the bye week, and welcoming Houston to town…which should be good news to Kurt Warner et al.  Defense still needs improvement. (next game vs. Houston)

19. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (2-2)

Two wins in a row helps this team gain some much needed confidence.  Heading to the west coast to take on Seattle. (next game @ Seattle)

20. HOUSTON TEXANS (2-2)

May end up in a shootout in the desert against the Cards.  Defense played better, but it was against the Raiders, which ain’t saying much. (next game @ Arizona)

21. WASHINGTON REDSKINS (2-2)

This team is barely beating the really bad teams…yet they beat them (except the Lions of course).  It seems like Jim Zorn’s job is on the line every week.  Jason Campbell needs to be better. (next game @ Carolina)

22. MIAMI DOLPHINS (1-3)

Humiliated the Bills 38-10 in the first game of the Chad Henne era.  Does this turn their season around? (next game vs. NY Jets)

23. BUFFALO BILLS (1-3)

Dick Jauron meet the hot seat.  Oh wait, Ralph Wilson Jr. still owns this team, right?  Never mind then.  Look for the fans to turn ugly if they lose to the piss-poor Browns this weekend. (next game vs. Cleveland)

24. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (1-3)

Injuries are taking a toll on this team.  They desperately need Matt Hasselbeck to return…but even he can’t help this defense. (next game vs. Jacksonville)

25. DETROIT LIONS (1-3)

Chicago whomped their asses, but they still are way better than last year.  QB Matthew Stafford’s knee injury not as serious as thought.  (next game vs. Pittsburgh)

26. TENNESSEE TITANS (0-4)

This team may be desperate enough to throw Vince Young in there at quarterback.  At this point, what could it hurt? (next game vs. Indianapolis)

27. CAROLINA PANTHERS (0-3)

At least they didn’t lose last week.  This team needs to finish strong, if only for some respect. (next game vs. Washington)

28. OAKLAND RAIDERS (1-3)

This organization is a mess.  The head coach is being investigated for slugging one of his assistants.  The QB is a fat, lazy turd…emphasis on the lazy.  JaMarcus Russell makes Homer Simpson look like Lance Armstrong. (next game @ NY Giants)

29. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (0-4)

I said it before the season began…Matt Cassel is a system quarterback.  And KC doesn’t have the system that New England has. (next game vs. Dallas)

30. CLEVELAND BROWNS (0-4)

Played tough against a good Bengals team.  Jettisoned Braylon Edwards and his questionable hands.  Brady Quinn may follow Mangini out the door at the end of the season…the kid’s looking like a bust. (next game @ Buffalo)

31. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (0-4)

At least they’re not the St. Louis Rams. (next game @ Philadelphia)

32. ST. LOUIS RAMS (0-4)

At least we’re not…oh shit. (next game vs. Minnesota)
