At least that’s what the NY Daily News is reporting.
It was only a matter of when, not if, and apparently when is today…although all signs pointed to Weis and his extra wide slacks being escorted out the door.
First was the cancelled recruiting trip, then the story of Weis’ office being emptied. Couple that with four straight losses to end a pathetic 6-6 season, all added up to doom for Weis.
Mind you, this is not official. The NY Daily News is quoting a source close to the program. No official word yet from Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick.
But don’t cry too hard for Weis–word is that he’s already been offered an offensive coordinator position with six different NFL clubs. And while he may have been so-so as an NCAA head coach (35-27 record in five years at ND), his history as an offensive coordinator is sparkling, to say the least.
