Apparently Wolmer Edqvist is Swedish for “Life-Saving Hero”

Yes, that picture is exactly what it looks like.  One collapsed hockey player and one ref performing CPR on him.  If that scene doesn’t scare you, then you obviously have no soul.

But no worries–the poor bastard lying on the ice is alive.  Thanks to Wolmer Edqvist, Swedish referee, ambulance driver, and friggin’ hero.

First the backstory.  Niklas Lihagen of Orebro HK collapsed to the ice after being hit by a player from the opposing Bofors team.  He then went into full blown cardiac arrest.  Luckily for Lihagen, the players, and the stunned onlookers, referee Edqvist was trained in CPR–which he performed on Lihagen.

And now the amazing video from a Swedish news report…
