Mom of Steelers Linebacker Busted for Assault

Moms are great…really, really great.  They love us unconditionally, support us through tough times, tell us we’re cool, when it’s painfully obvious we are not, and are always our biggest fans.

One such mom is Mildred Harrison, mother of Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison.  She’s 62-years-old, loves her son, and is up on assault charges.

Wait…what?

Seems Mrs. Harrison was hosting a party at a VFW (Veteran of Foreign Wars) hall during the Thursday night tilt between her son’s Steelers and the Cleveland Browns.  A brawl broke out amongst the 100 or so guests, during which people were punched, pushed and pelted with beer bottles.  Four victims were treated at hospital and released.

For her involvement in the fight, Harrison was charged with assault.  No word on what she actually did–but I’m hoping it involved a beer bottle or two.  And ramming her knee into somebody’s groin.  That would be kickass.

Hell, if they’d have suited up Mildred Harrison instead of her kid, the Steelers might not have gotten beat by the lowly Browns 13-6.
