It’s a Good Thing Natalie Gulbis is So Damn Good Looking…

…because her knowledge of historical landmarks is atrocious.

Gulbis, Michelle Wie and the rest of the Solheim Cup team were in Washington D.C. to meet President Obama, one of their rewards for winning the 2009 Solheim Cup.

A little sightseeing ensued, and Gulbis and Wie had their picture taken with a very famous, very phallic looking monument in the background.  Gulbis tweeted the photo, with this caption…

“Michelle and I with Lincoln Memorial in background.”

Like I said…atrocious.  Unless the government decided to rename the Washington Monument the Lincoln Memorial, in honor of Abraham Lincoln’s giant, slave-freeing dong.

But I doubt that.

I guess Natalie was made aware of her mistake, and posted a “correction” of sorts…

Umm, Natalie…oh, never mind.  Stay pretty.

at least she’s standing at the lincoln memorial

  • idiot

No – she is standing at the Capitol

  • Joel

So technically, since she’s at the base of the Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial IS behind her . . . about 1.25 miles away. There was also to be a Washington Memorial, it was started in the 1920s, but never got far when the Depression hit, and . . . oh, nevermind! Regardless, not good.

  • CSC

Yes, Lincoln Memorial is behind the Washington Monument…she was actually right but it’s rather difficult to see the Lincoln Memorial through the Washington Monument. However, person who called her out should have known this and just left it alone. Heaven forbid she makes an honest mistake.

    Should be Michelle and me

    Not Michelle and I

  • KCK

    I had her. She spits.

  • Eric

Sorry guys, you’ve all got it wrong. That is not the Washington Monument – it’s much taller and doesn’t have 2 black dots on it’s side. I’m not sure exactly what this is, but there is a Washington Memorial in DC.

  • Jason

    Eric,
Those are two different memorials/monuments. The one with the “black dots” is the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial at the base of Capitol Hill. It’s just a few hundred yards away. The Washington Monument is much further in the distance. The two monuments are just lined up in the photo, so it makes them look like they are one.

When you’re as hot as them WHO CARES!!

  • Jake

She’s still smarter than BH Obama, who wouldn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground without his precious Teleprompter.

Not to mention that even Wie is better looking than his dude of a “wife”.

    LOL!

  • SteveP

Jake, when you want to wash your face do you sit on a toilet and flush?

    LOL what tool you are.

  • Berdell Hardy

Consider the source, although, ‘technically, she is right. The Lincoln Memorial is behind her. So is the rest of the Country. Who knew?

  • Deiter7

C/mon you deeks…give her a break…technicall she is correct and as a matter of fact I am sure Mr Lincoln would be behind her as well….as well as me , myself and I would be right behind her, in front of her, over her , next to her…and even between her and Michelle Wie…man 6′ of asian coordination…that would be sweet….

  • willie

Good she has a t–t and can golf- otherwise she would be useless.

  • Grammarian

Actually, “Michelle and I” is correct. The sentence is a shortened version of “This is Michelle and I …”. Since ‘Michelle and I’ are the object of a form of the verb ‘to be’ the predicate nominative – nominative I instead of objective me – is correct.

  • RT

Actually, “me” is correct, as in, “This is a picture of me at…” adding Michele doesn’t change that.
“This is I at…” is obviously wrong, as are you…

  • Chuck

subject nouns (I, he, she, we, etc) follow any for of to be, not object nouns (me, us, them, etc)
