Kurt Warner Gets Blowed Up Real Good

The look on Kurt Warner’s face says it all.  Collectively, I’m sure that the rest of the Cardinals and their fans are feeling the same way Warner did after this bone-crushing hit from the Saints Bobby McCray.

Warner got blowed up, blowed up real good after throwing a pick to Will Smith.  Warner was trying to get to Smith to tackle him when McCray came in and laid out Warner.  And for anyone thinking it was a dirty hit…you can leave this place.  Now.  When Warner made the move to try and tackle Smith, he’s fair game for the type of hard, clean hit given to him by McCray.

End of story.

I’m not going to say the hit was the turning point of the game–the Saints were up by two touchdowns at that point–but it definitely showed that it was the Saints ball game.  The hit, which knocked Warner out of the game (albeit briefly), was the proverbial icing on the cake, in a 45-14 Saints blowout victory.

Enjoy it while you can, because I can guarantee it’s only a matter of time before the league cries “COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT” and has it taken down.

Finally, two things I wonder after seeing that hit, and the subsequent dismantling of last year’s Super Bowl runner-ups…

1. is this the way Kurt Warner goes out, or does he change his thinking on retiring and come back for one more year, just to get the bad taste out of his mouth?
2. is Kurt a little pissed at god for not protecting him better from 300+ lbs of Bobby McCray.  Just saying is all…
