Jake Delhomme Signed by the Browns to Throw INT’s Next Season

Free agent QB Jake Delhomme, last seen throwing tons and tons of interceptions for the Carolina Panthers, has been signed by the Cleveland Browns to a 2-year deal.  Word on the street is that Delhomme will be making somewhere in the neighborhood of $7 million per year from the Browns, which absolutely leaves me flabbergasted.

Now take that $7 million from Cleveland, and add it to the $12.65 million he’s still owed from the Panthers, and you’re looking at a new Browns QB making $19.65 million whose 2009 stat line reads like this…

But hey, from what I understand, the Cleveland fans are a very patient and understanding lot, so Delhomme doesn’t have to worry about any backlash should he have a 2010 season anywhere comparable to his brutal 2009 campaign.

In other words…this will not end well for Delhomme.

Oh, and Brady Quinn, kiss your ass goodbye.
