Angels Players Witness Man Plummet to His Death
An obviously distraught 39-year-old Manhattanite jumped to his death from the 42nd floor of the LeParker Meridien, a ritzy Midtown hotel where the LA Angels just happened to be staying. But the story doesn’t end there…not by a long shot.
At least two Angels players, pitchers Jared Weaver and Matt Palmer, were witnesses to the grisly event. While Weaver, obviously shaken up by the whole thing, refused to talk about the incident, Palmer spoke up about what happened–and after reading his comments, I kind of wish he hadn’t…
“Weaver actually saw him splat,” Palmer said. “I felt kind of sick to my stomach…It’s hard to see something like that and hard to take it.”
Let’s hope that Palmer and Weaver aren’t overly traumatized by this horrific and unsettling ordeal…I know I would be. As for the troubled man who took his own life–I hope he has finally found the peace in death that he certainly couldn’t find in life.
