Aaron Rodgers Not a Big Fan of Tony Kornheiser

That may be the understatement of the year.  The Green Bay Packers quarterback let loose on Kornheiser in a recent interview with, ironically enough, ESPN Milwaukee.  Sure, some of the other ESPN talking heads were targets of Rodgers ire, but none more so that the polarizing Kornheiser, one time co-host of Monday Night Football.

Here’s what Rodgers had to say about the PTI host, courtesy of Sports Radio Interviews

“You know who was better than Tony Kornheiser? Dennis Miller was ten times better. Dennis Miller was a great comedian, but one of the worst Monday Night Football guys ever. And he was ten times better than Tony Kornheiser. His stuff was actually funny. Tony stuff wasn’t funny at all. He did no research. We’d sit in those production meetings and he would add absolutely nothing to the conversation. I’d be like, ‘What are we doing here? This is stupid.’… You get in there with Tony and he’s asking you all these dumb questions that have no application to the game you are playing or anything you are doing. He’s terrible… I don’t think he’s funny. I don’t think he’s insightful. I don’t think knows anything about sports.”

Now, I’m not a fan of Kornheiser, and I agree with Rodgers that at the best of times Kornheiser was utterly painful in the MNF booth. But worse than Dennis Miller? Not by a longshot. Miller’s smarminess, combined with his unfunny and arcane references made me want to repeatedly jam an icepick into my brain, just so I wouldn’t have to listen to that smug prick anymore.

That being said, I doubt very much that Rodgers will be invited to the Kornheiser household for their annual kosher weenie roast anytime soon.

Rogers has it right with regard to Kornheiser on MNF, what a stupid idea that was.  Now, I really enjoy him on PTI, which is something quite different.
