Kobe and his 5 Rings Have a Message for Shaq

A great finish to a truly fantastic series, with the Lakers rallying to beat the Celtics 83-79, Kobe Bryant capturing the Finals MVP Trophy, Ron Artest thanking his psychiatrist in his immediate post-game interview, Lakers fan dismantling Los Angeles piece by piece, and worst of all, Adam Morrison becoming a 2-time NBA champion.

Ugh.

While Artest’s interview was pretty epic (not only did he thank his psychiatrist, he also gave a shout out to his hood, and pimped his new single), my personal favorite soundbite came during Kobe’s post-game press conference. When asked what this championship meant to him personally, he used it as a springboard to take a humorous dig at former teammate Shaquille O’Neal.

“Got one more than Shaq…so you can take that to the bank.”

Of course Shaq took it all in stride, and his response to Kobe is equally as funny…

It’s nice to see these two have graduated from childish bickering to good-natured ribbing…kind of warms the cockles of your heart.
