Attractive Soccer Player to Open L.A. Pub With Irascible TV Chef?

Yes, I am aware that this barely qualifies as regular news, let alone sports news, but cut me a little slack…other than a dong-related Brett Favre story, it’s been an extremely slow news day.

Rumor has it that dreamy soccer star David Beckham and hot-tempered TV chef Gordon Ramsay may be bringing the taste of jolly old England to sunny L.A. by way of a genuine English pub the pair plan on opening in the near future.

The tentatively named “The Queen Vic,” in honor of Beck’s wife Victoria, will feature authentic English food and drink…and by authentic, I mean steak and kidney pie, blood pudding, bangers and mash, and the always refreshing, pint of warm ale.  Just the kind of cuisine the people of Los Angeles have been waiting for, I’m sure.

And if that doesn’t draw them in to the joint, I’m sure the 24/7 coverage of soccer on the big screen TV’s, the Spice Girls cranking out of the jukebox, and the constant stream of profanities coming from the kitchen most assuredly will.
