Troy Polamalu’s Luscious Locks Insured for $1 Million by head & shoulders

Big companies know that protecting their investment is as important as the investment itself.  head & shoulders knows this, hence the reason they went and had the flowing mane of Steelers safety Troy Polamalu insured with Lloyd’s of London for a cool million bucks.

You think I’m kidding, but look at that head of hair and tell me you wouldn’t insure that salad if it was working for you.  Yeah, that’s what I thought.

Polamalu is almost as well-known for his curly dark hair that is reaching 3-feet in length as he is for his bone-rattling tackles on the gridiron.  The two things contrast well with his soft-spoken demeanor and otherwise pleasant personality, making him the perfect spokesperson for head & shoulders Hair Endurance for Men.

As per Troy himself…

“head & shoulders has gone above and beyond this year by insuring my Samoan locks for a cool $1 million. This reinforces that my full and thick hair is unstoppable,”

Hoo boy.

And now some guy from Lloyd’s of London…

“In developing this unique policy, we recognize that Troy Polamalu’s famed head of hair is truly legendary and we are proud to partner with head & shoulders to protect it,” says Jonathan Thomas of Watkins Syndicate at Lloyd’s of London.

Finally,  a rep from Procter and Gamble…

“Hair Endurance for Men cleans Troy’s scalp and hair to keep it looking full and thick despite the beating his hair takes on and off the field,” says April Anslinger, Brand Manager of head & shoulders at Procter and Gamble. “We are proud to insure his hair knowing that head & shoulders is the essential part of the daily grooming regime that makes his hair so recognizable.”

Sure, this reeks of a publicity stunt, but what doesn’t these days.  And if it is, then you gotta give Head and Shoulders some credit…it’s unique.  Plus I’ll sleep better knowing that Polamalu’s gorgeous follicles are well protected.
