• VIDEO: Soccer Player Kicking Injured Owl Will Make Animal Lover’s Heads Asplode

  If you love animals and dislike soccer, then you might not appreciate this story.  And if your favorite bird is the owl, and you absolutely detest soccer, then you might as well leave now, because you ain’t gonna be pleased.

  During a soccer match in Colombia between the Deportivo Pereira and Atletico Junior clubs, an owl that serves as the mascot for the Atletico team flew onto the field where it was injured after being hit by a soccer ball.  As it lay there, waiting to be attended to, Deportivo defender Luis Moreno thought he’d help the owl out by transporting the injured bird to it’s handlers.

  By kicking it.

  Not exactly the most humane way of moving an injured animal, but it got the job done.  When Moreno was finished giving the owl the boot, the bird had traveled a good three meters from it’s original spot.  And for his spontaneous act of animal cruelty, Moreno may be facing sanctions.

• If Your Dream Job Was to be the Cubs PA Announcer, You’re in Luck!

  The Chicago Cubs announced today that they will be looking for a new public address announcer to fill the void left by outgoing announcer Paul Friedman, who is leaving the Cubs organization to pursue other opportunities.

  And the best part is, while previous announcing experience is preferred, it’s not necessary, meaning that any Joe Blow can apply to be the “voice of the Chicago Cubs while in Wrigley Field.”  So long as you don’t mind watching the Cubs play game in and game out, it sounds like a pretty good gig.

• VIDEO: Wisconsin Lineman Scores Well on the Combine’s Booger Pick Test

  Warning! If you are grossed out by the sight of a rather large football player picking his nose and eating it, twice, then stop reading, lest you end up with a computer covered in your own vomit.  You’ve been warned.

  In case you didn’t know it, the NFL Scouting Combine is kind of a big deal.  It gives college football players the opportunity to showcase their skills to NFL coaches, general managers and scouts alike.  So you know there’s going to be TV coverage like crazy, and this year’s extravaganza was no exception, with the NFL Network on site covering this year’s Combine.

  That being said, players are nervous, tense, and often forgetful.  Wisconsin OL John Moffitt seemed to forget about the multiple NFL Network cameras surrounding him today, otherwise he might not have chosen to go digging for golden boogers while in plain view of a television camera.

• Have You Seen This Man’s Customized Oakland Raiders Prosthetic Leg?

  That is a picture of Oakland resident Darryl Turner’s $7500 customized Oakland Raiders prosthetic leg, which would be a pretty badass fan accessory, if it wasn’t a customized Raiders prosthetic limb.  But Turner loves the Raiders, and it is his fake leg, so more power to him.

  Turner lost his leg (as well as use of his left arm) in a motorcycle accident in 1985, and this past December forked over the sum of $7500 for his new one honoring his beloved Raiders.  Fast forward two months later, and Turner is heartbroken after having the prosthetic limb stolen right out of his front yard.

  The artificial leg was snatched from Turner’s front yard on February 12 at around 4 p.m., after he took a spin around the block on a four-wheeler he’d been tinkering with.  When Turner returned, the leg was gone.

  And now all Darryl Turner wants is to have his Raiders limb back on his body where it belongs. Read more ›

   

• VIDEO: High School Coach Shows His Players How Not to Dunk

  With practice having ended, this high school coach thought it’d be a hoot to show his players how he used to dunk back in his glory days.

  The trouble is, when you’re showing off, things usually go awry.  And do they ever go awry for this guy.

  Our intrepid coach goes up for his dunk, misses, grabs onto the rim, which gives way, shattering the backboard, and sending the guy who fed him the pass scurrying for his life.

  Landing with a thud on his back was just icing on the cake.

• Chris Bosh Makes Like a Soccer Player After Phantom Boozer Elbow

  You’d expect to see this kind of garbage in a soccer game, or when Manu Ginobli comes to town, but not so much from Chris Bosh, aka Mr. Third Wheel.

  During the Heat/Bulls game tonight, Bosh took a phantom elbow from Carlos Boozer, which caused the Miami forward to go down like a whore on prom night.  I say phantom because on the replay it looks as if Boozer’s elbow barely, and I mean barely grazed Bosh’s ostrich like face.

  That didn’t stop Bosh from playing it up with the worst dive we’ve seen since this one.

• VIDEO: Phils Simms’ 1987 NFL Workout Video is the Most 1980s Thing Ever

  CBS color analyst Phil Simms was once a hotshot quarterback for the New York Giants, and when you’re the QB for one of the teams in the biggest television market, you tend to do big things.

  That would include cheesy workout videos like this one.
