Bride’s Handmade Man City Wedding Dress is Something Old, Something Blue

Not to mention something borrowed and something new, in keeping with that time-honored wedding tradition.  See, it’s old and borrowed because the dress is made from her new husband’s old Man City jerseys.  The something blue part is pretty obvious to those who aren’t blue/green color blind, and the something new is the dress itself.  Guaranteed this is the first Manchester City wedding dress the world has ever seen.

Karen Bell is the creative force behind the unique dress.  The 38-year-old City fan thought she’d do something different for her second marriage, and since her new husband Simon was as big a Man City fan as she was, the obvious answer was to take his old kits and turn them into this stunning wedding gown.  Well, maybe stunning isn’t the right word, but honestly, it’s not as bad as I would have imagined it would be had you told me the particulars behind the dress before I saw it.  I dare say, other than the giant logo on the back, it’s downright lovely, and not the least bit tacky.

No, tacky would have been if Bell had tried pulling off wearing a white wedding dress this time around.
