Chuck Giampa’s Boxing Analyst Gig Doesn’t Get Off to a Resounding Start

Chuck Giampa is a renowned boxing judge turned analyst for Showtime Boxing, and this past Friday Giampa made his rather unforgettable television debut.  When host Al Bernstein, who refers to Giampa’s esteemed record as a judge (3000 fights judged, including 132 world championship bouts), throws it over to Showtime’s newest analyst, for what we the viewing audience can only imagine is some sort of unique insight into judging boxing, Giampa repeats his opening line “Thanks Al, tonight I will be taking you inside the mind of a judge…” twice mind you, before pausing in a splendid moment of awkward silence.  He ends his segment with a mumbled “sh*t” before producers mercifully cut away from the frazzled Giampa.

All in all a moment of television gold that old Chuck would just as soon forget.

Video follows the jump…

According to Chuck Giampa’s expert opinion, the only thing going on inside the mind of a judge is a whole lot of nothing.
