During pre-game warmups prior to facing off against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Oilers forward Taylor Hall was involved in a freakishly scary accident that saw teammate Corey Potter step on Hall’s face while trying to hurdle his fallen mate who had collided with Ladislav Smid. Hall suffered a massive cut just above his eye that required 30 stitches to close up, but all things considered, isn’t so bad when you think of what could have happened had Potter’s skate sliced Hall’s eye or throat.
Now that he’s had a few days to heal, we finally get our first glimpse of Hall’s patch job, and let me warn you, it’s quite ghastly…
Gah! My but that is disturbing. It’s like he had a giant zipper implanted in his forehead in case he ever needed to clean the inside of his skull. The black eye only adds to the terrific injury, as does his swollen lips. What…his lips always look like that, all pouty and full. My mistake.
Hall plans on wearing a helmet from now on in warmups. Looking at that massive gash on his face, I’d say that’s a pretty wise move there kid.
