ESPN’s terrific new ad features Michael Jordan, just not THAT Michael Jordan

Having an ordinary name that is neither famous nor exciting, I have no idea what it must be like for those people that share their name with a celebrity.  Does it get you perks that would normally be reserved only for the rich and famous, or does it get you nothing but disappointing looks from people hoping that it’s that person that’s not you.

That exact scenario is the premise of ESPN’s new “It’s Not Crazy, It’s Sports” campaign, and in this commercial Michael Jordan, a man who seems to be the exact opposite of THE Michael Jordan, is met with disapproving reactions from deflated people who were expecting the retired basketball star, only to find a balding, paunchy, accountant-type fellow with glasses and a pronounced lack of hoops skills and tongue wagging.

Hilarious, clever, and altogether brilliant.
