A week later and Sami Lepisto’s knee is still showing the effects of blocking a shot

Quite horrifically I might add.

The Chicago Blackhawks were knocked out of the first round of the NHL playoffs roughly a week ago by the Phoenix Coyotes, so it’s not like the Hawks players aren’t completely healed from their injuries. Case in point, Chicago defenseman Sami Lepisto’s grotesque looking knee, which clearly shows the lingering after effects of blocking a slap shot.

Lepisto posted this pic of his scary looking hematoma to his Twitter account with the caption, “This is why I shouldn’t be blocking slap shots!!”  I’m sure the double exclamation points were totally redundant once people caught a glimpse of his bruised hinge, and as for Lepisto himself, he should be thanking his lucky stars that he didn’t take the shot that did that much damage to his head, neck or face, otherwise he might not be around to show off his horrific injuries on Twitter.
