Nothing to see here—just a high schooler kicking a 67-yard game tying field goal

Kid’s got a helluva big leg.

With his Central Valley (WA) HS team trailing Shadle Park HS 55-52, kicker Austin Rehkow was called upon to boot a 67-yard field goal with two seconds left in an attempt to send the game to overtime.  If you’ve gotten this far then you know he nailed it, with plenty of leg to spare.

Oh, and for the record, he smashed the NFL record by a good 4-yards.  Suck on that, Tom Dempsey, David Akers, Sebastian Janikowski, and Jason Elam.

Central Valley would go on to win 62-55 in OT.  Guess the offense figured Rehkow and his booming right leg deserved a break after hitting a 67-yarder, so they went ahead and finished the game off themselves.  How thoughtful of them.
