In case you were unawares, the WNBA Finals are currently underway, with the Minnesota Lynx and the Indiana Fever knotted up at one game apiece following the Lynx’s 83-71 win on Wednesday night. During said game Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve became incensed with a non-call against Minny guard Lindsay Whalen, as she thought Whalen was hacked on her arm by Fever guard Briann January as she drove to the basket. The refs didn’t see it that way and the Lynx ended up turning the ball over.
This led to Reeve having an epic meltdown that included her ripping off her jacket in anger and throwing it to one of her assistants while berating the refs for the blown call. A male assistant tried holding back the much smaller Reeve, and despite his size advantage had a helluva time keeping her in check. It was akin to a toddler trying to fend off a rabid honey badger on a feeding frenzy.
Reeve and Whalen both received technical fouls on the play, and apparently Reeve threw out her shoulder ripping off her coat during her tirade. That being said, what Reeve lacks in self-control, she more than makes up for in fashion sense. Jacket on or jacket off, that outfit she wore was absolutely smashing.
