Terrible free throw shooter Dwight Howard airballs terrible free throw against the Jazz

Never had a chance.

There’s something inherently funny about watching a professional basketball player airball a free throw. I mean, it’s arguably the easiest shot to make in the game of basketball, and it’s a skill these guys have been practicing their entire career, except maybe for Shaquille O’Neal.  The free throw shooter is stationary, the basket is stationary—so tell me, how does an NBA player completely whiff on a free throw ever?

Next time I’m hanging with Lakers center Dwight Howard I’ll ask him.  Howard airballed a free throw early in the Lakers 95-86 loss to the Jazz.  Well, the notoriously poor free throw shooter did manage to catch the bottom part of the net with his effort, but still, that’s just terrible execution.

Nice form though.
