Peruvian U-20 goalkeeper Ángelo Campos’ insane hustle led to this pair of phenomenal saves

Angelo CamposIt’s a bit early to be anointing saves of the year in any sport, but there’s little chance you will see anything better than the double save at the goal line pulled off by Peruvian goalkeeper Ángelo Campos against Uruguay in the South America U-20 Championship.  Granted, Campos got himself caught out of position trying to corral a long pass, thereby handing Uruguayan striker Gonzalo Bueno a shot at a wide open net, but Campos made up for his gaffe with some insane hustle to keep the ball out on Bueno’s obviously weak attempt, then continued that hustle to deny the Uruguay striker a second time and keep the score 3-2.

To top things off, Peru came back to tie the match up at three on a Cristian Benavente penalty shot in the 87th minute, making Campos’ miraculous saves all the more important as the tie gave the under-20 Peru squad a much needed, and hard earned, point.

Here’s a GIF of Campos’ things of beauty (via Mockesession)…
