Kevin, an Atlanta Hawks season ticket holder, was chosen to take the Money $hot (Ed. note: yep, that’s what it’s called) at halftime of the Hawks-Jazz game this past Friday night. If he makes the half-court shot he’s $1,000 richer, and if he misses he gets bupkus. As you witnessed while watching the video above, Kevin missed the Money $hot, but his miss was so spectacular, so freakishly incredible, that he was awarded the $1,000 anyway, along with the unmitigated awe and admiration of all those in attendance in Atlanta.
I’d like to point out that besides defying all laws of physics (and possibly a few laws of thermodynamics), Kevin also committed a foot fault on the shot, as his left foot was clearly over the half-court line as he heaved the ball towards the basket. On the other hand, the most athletic thing I’ve done all weekend is pulled my groin while running to the kitchen to get my pizza pops out of the microwave during a break in my Charles in Charge marathon, so who am I to judge?
