Ravens WR Jacoby Jones had himself one helluva terrific Super Bowl, setting the record for longest touchdown in Super Bowl history with his electric 108-yard kickoff return to start the second half. This was on top of the 56-yard touchdown pass he hauled in from QB Joe Flacco, who ended up being named Super Bowl MVP when it
rightfully probably should have gone to Jones for his 290 total yards, two TD performance.
But I digress.
One thing Jones did get that Flacco didn’t, other than this hideous back tattoo, is an invitation to be on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, probably because Flacco’s go to dance is, was, and always will be the Robot, and everyone knows that can only get you so far on a dancing show or wedding reception. Jones’ inclusion on the reality show was announced in a commercial broadcast during Sunday’s Academy Awards show.
NFL players have had great success on the show, from Season 3 winner Emmitt Smith, to fellow wideouts Hines Ward and Donald Driver, who took the title in Seasons 12 and 14 respectively. If Jones can cut a rug like he can return a kickoff, then chances are pretty decent he’ll waltz, tango, salsa, and jitterbug away the winner.
