KHL major junior player Artem Voronin delivers a nasty shootout goal

shootout goalShowcasing a player’s hockey artistry during a shootout is nothing new, but so long as guys come up with new and inventive ways to deke a goaltender out of his jockstrap, crafty goals like the one KHL major junior player Artem Voronin of MHC Spatak pulled during a game against Almaz will never stop being worth a gander.

While I’m not a big fan of Voronin taunting the Almaz bench following his slick goal, I am a fan of his creativity and flawless execution. As for Almaz goalie Kirill Grigoryev, there’s no shame in falling for the bit of wizardry that Voronin dropped on him. It’s hard to stop a puck when your mind has been messed up by a hockey stick wielding sorcerer.
