Rugby player Ernst Joubert is all smiles despite his nose being a horrific, mangled mess

South African rugby player Ernst Joubert, vice captain for Saracens in the Aviva Premiership, is currently with his squad as they participate in the Heineken Cup. This past Saturday Saracens faced off against Ulster, with Saracens walking away with the 27-16 victory, and Joubert walking away with this horrible broken nose, a stark reminder of how brutal a sport rugby is.

Here’s a photo of Joubert’s gnarly, disfigured beak, brought to us by BBC sports correspondent Dan Roan’s Twitter account

Ernst Joubert

I want to know how this man is smiling, considering his half his nose is where his left ear should be. Wonder if Joubert will still be smiling following the surgery he’ll most definitely need to somehow straighten out that disaster of a nose?
