Umpire John Hirschbeck took a foul tip to his man parts

Umpire John Hirschbeck was behind the plate for the Rangers-Angels game Wednesday night, and in the 4th inning took a foul tip off the bat of Texas catcher A.J. Pierzynski that struck Hirschbeck square in the man parts.

Hirschbeck stayed down for a few moments as the game was delayed to “collect his thoughts” according to the announcers, which is a polite way of saying he was fighting the urge to throw up after taking a 91 mph pitch to the nuts. Hirsch stayed in the game, throbbing junk and all, as the Rangers went on to crush the Angels 11-3.

Here it is in GIF form, because nothing is as entertaining as seeing a grown man take a baseball to the groin on continuous loop…

Ding dong!
