Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler’s sliding technique could use some work

By all accounts Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler is a pretty decent player, but even the game’s best players have their moments. For the hot hitting Kinsler, one such moment took place on Thursday night against the Tigers, when he tried going from first to third on an Elvis Andrus single. While he was able to make it to third base successfully, his headfirst slide could have used a little work…

Feet and hands are the usual way in which ballplayers safely touch a base. Using your face, like Kinsler did during his dirt bellyflop, not so much.

In spite of the Texas infielder’s terrifically bad slide the Rangers toppled Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers 10-4.
