Oakland A’s security guard took a foul ball off his well-protected head

In the bottom of the 3rd inning of Wednesday’s A’s-Yankees game, Oakland catcher John Jaso ripped a foul ball down the right field line that caromed off the base of the wall and nailed an Oakland Coliseum security guard right off the head. Lucky for him MLB instituted a rule that all on-field personnel are required to wear a helmet, otherwise that security guard would have spent the rest of the game with a pretty gnarly headache…
