Amazing footage of spectacular failed Russian rocket launch

Russian Proton-M rocket crashed after a failed launch from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan on Tuesday. The rocket was carrying three navigation satellites for its GLONASS satellite navigation system. There were no reported injuries.

The launch was broadcasted live on Russian TV, so the crash was caught on camera. The footage shows the rocket veering off-course seconds into the launch before bursting into flames and crashing. Investigation is already under way.

And here it is from another angle, captured by a spectator who probably yanked the dash cam off his car to shoot the video (stick around for the aftershock)…
