Last week a video of New York Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez surfaced that shows him dancing—or at least doing something close to dancing—with two women in a kitchen. Ordinarily, this would not be a newsworthy moment in the QB’s life, save for the fact that he decided to get naked beforehand and let someone record him in the act.
Now I assure you I am the very opposite of what you might call a “hater.” I’m all for a young, millionaire, GQ-cover rockin’ NFL quarterback enjoying himself during the off-season, but maybe it’s about time Mark Sanchez put his pants back on and took a good hard look at himself in the mirror.
After all, this is the same guy who nearly had his frail psyche shattered by Tim Tebow piously riding the pine behind him, he currently has Geno Smith gunning for his job, and he generally seems to make pretty horrible decisions when it comes to women. Let’s not forget he did mistakenly date a 17 year-old not too long ago.
Worst of all, according to a former teammate, Sanchez appears to have a thing for going pantsless on camera. In an interview with the Metro former jets Quarterback Erik Ainge had this to say:
“There were numerous times when things would happen, when things would go down, articles of clothing would be removed. Mark is goofy. He played truth or dare. He was kind of awkward around girls, so he needed other people around him to help him out. I was good at that — there were other guys who were good with that. So we’d help him out and talk him through his awkwardness…He’s dumb about it. He’s stupid while being stupid. You have to be smart while being stupid, and he’s dumb while being dumb. Look at the butt video. He needs someone he trusts there when Mark wants to go streaking through his own condo.”
Sure it’s a little strange that Erik Ainge wants to be Mark Sanchez’s go-to guy whenever he feels like streaking through his condo, but at least someone has got his backside. Let’s just hope that for the sake of Mark Sanchez’s career, this whole going pantsless-on-video-trend ends very soon. Sanchez should really listen to Erik Ainge’s golden words of advice, “You have to be smart while being stupid” …words to live by my friend.
