Nashville Predators painted the ice gold at Bridgestone Arena

The Nashville Predators are holding an open house on July 20 so that fans can come and peruse seats for the upcoming 2013-14 NHL season, take a tour of the Preds locker room, buy some game used equipment, and skate on the Bridgestone Arena ice, which will be painted yellow canary goldenrod maize puce gold for the special event.

Meghan Hunter, fan relations coordinator for the team, uploaded a pic of the ice surface to Twitter earlier today…

Unfortunately the golden ice will only be around for the open house, which is just as well, because I’m pretty sure there aren’t many NHL players who would cop to saying they enjoy playing hockey on something that resembles a giant sheet of frozen urine.
