Is Olympic champion Michael Phelps planning a comeback for the 2016 summer games?
Following his unprecedented success at the 2012 London Olympics, American swimmer Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, said that he was hanging up his Speedo and retiring from the sport at 27 years of age.
Then a rumor started circulating on Twitter that Phelps had a change of heart and planned on returning to the pool at the 2016 Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro. According to Peter Busch, the weeknight anchor for the NBC affiliate in Fort Myers, Florida, Phelps has confirmed, via a tweet, that yes indeed he will be returning for the next summer Olympic games.
