Chapparal and Arapahoe met in the Colorado 5A state championship this past weekend, and a greater ending to a high school basketball game you will never see, thanks to the skill and athleticism of Chapparal’s Josh Adams, who won the game for the Wolverines with this amazing, buzzer-beating, off-balanced tip-in in overtime. It truly is a phenomenal highlight reel play.
After Arapahoe tied the game up at 67 with roughly 10-seconds left to play, Chapparal’s Cory Calvert brought the ball down the court and heaved up a rushed three-pointer that clanged off the back of the rim. Out of nowhere comes Josh Adams, who puts back the errant trey with an awkward looking left hand tip-in that won his team the championship.

Timothy Lee Forbes was coaching in a basketball tournament in Springfield, MA on Friday night when, after his team was defeated, instead of engaging in the congratulatory handshake with the opposing coach, went full Mike Tyson on him, attacking his unsuspecting opponent and biting off a chunk of his ear in what was described as a ” brief, but violent assault.”

It hasn’t been the best of seasons for the lowly Wizards as they entered Wednesday night’s game against the Lakers, and yet they somehow overcame a 21-point deficit to drop Los Angeles 106-101. Win or loss, this is Washington we’re talking about, which means their best highlight of the night has to be this epic miss on a wide-open layup attempt by Nick Young.
Somehow Young loses the handle on his fastbreak attempt despite not being contested in the least, and the end result is a shot that looks like he was attempting an alley-oop to no one in particular. His shot is all alley and no oop, all sizzle and no steak, all style and no substance. Read more ›
