Too bad it cost him the opportunity to collect his diploma at the end of his walk across the stage.  Oh, and then he was made to clean up the gym following commencement as further punishment for Tebowing.

“I just thought it was fun,” Shriner said. “I was just doing it to make graduation memorable.”

While the audience — parents and students alike — erupted into laughter, administration was quick to reprimand. Not with rulers, or a dunce cap, however.

The Fort Myers teen, who will be attending University of Central Florida in the fall to study mechanical engineering, was told he wouldn’t be receiving his diploma because of his antics.

“They said what I did would give underclassmen inspiration to do something else, that it might lead to something else,” Shriner said about the administration’s reaction. “So they were trying to set an example.”

Now get this, the person behind Shriner’s punishment was none other than his own mother, who also  happens to be a math teacher at the school.  Apparently she wasn’t pleased with her son’s Tebowing shenanigans, and wanted to teach her son a lesson.  The lesson?  Tebowing is not an appropriate act during commencement at a Catholic high school (Ed. note: I honestly can’t think of anywhere Tebowing would be more appropriate), because not only is it disruptive, it’s so 2011.

Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night, but he wasn’t showing off his masturbatory skills as WTOP 103.5, Washington’s only all-news radio station, would have you believe with the above headline.  No, RG3 flashed his winning smile, “Go Catch Your Dream” custom socks with cape, and impressive beatbox skills to Leno and his audience.

And yes, WTOP has changed the headline to read “RGIII shows off his socks and his beat on Leno,” which is a tad more appropriate, not too mention family friendly.  Probably just an overtired, overworked editor on the night shift who didn’t realize what exactly was being implied with the original racy headline.  Or someone who didn’t give a sh*t because it was their last day on the job.  Either explanation is plausible.

Wait, he’s not only a talented football and basketball player who can beatbox with the best of them, he writes songs too?  It’s like RG3 is the genetically perfect love child of Bo Jackson, Liza Minnelli, and Darren “The Human Beat Box” Robinson from The Fat Boys.  Whoa, I think I just blinded myself with science!

Who’s Chris Dvorak you ask?  He’s the rather athletic gentleman who has donned the costume of Jaxson de Ville, the Jags mascot, since 1996.  Did I mention Dvorak has a 2 handicap?  Yeah, there’s that too.

During Wednesday’s practice round Dvorak caddied for Jim Furyk on the back nine, and when their group reached the 17th, Dvorak was given a challenge by Andres Romero’s caddie that he couldn’t’ hit the island green dressed as Jaxson de Ville.  As the daredevil kids say these days, challenge accepted.

As the group approached the 17th hole, Dvorak was challenged by Andres Romero’s caddie, Adrian Monteros, to hit a shot to the island green in full-on costume. Taking a little less club, Dvorak stood over the ball and laced a perfect 8-iron onto the green, drawing a cheer from the crowd.

Sadly, Dvorak’s swing in that cumbersome mascot costume is still about a million times better than the best golf swing I’ve ever attempted in my life. I’m going to go flush my clubs down the toilet now.

Scant details are available as to what the 30-minute show will be about, but I can’t see it as an exposé of sorts to reveal the seamy and salacious details of Tebow’s private life, because as most of us know, the man is as pure as new fallen Tibetan snow…and just as bland.

SI.com has learned that the Jets’ quarterback will be the subject of a 30-minute special airing on E! Entertainment Television sometime in July. A league source says the show is being done without Tebow’s participation.

Without Tebow’s participation, eh?  Yeah, that’s pretty well the only way you’d get the puritanical Tebow on the same network as the unchaste and tainted Kim Kardashian.  On the plus side, it will give Tebow the much needed exposure he’ll be lacking from the New York media once Jets training camp opens, because let’s be honest, when camp opens the focus will squarely be on how 2nd round draft pick Stephen Hill will improve the Jets passing attack…amirite?

Or not,  but at least it will drive the attention away from the usual things, like Rex Ryan’s weight and big mouth, and Antonio Cromartie’s 10 kids by eight different women, which is never not a bad thing.

Tebow knows how to play to the Jets fans, doesn’t he?

I don’t understand why Tebow is bothering to change his dog’s name from Bronco to Bronx (Ed. note: Bronco is a much better name for a dog if you ask me) other than the obvious, but if you’re going to go ahead and give your pet a new moniker, shouldn’t it have been Swampy or Cesspool or even Jersey, seeing that the Jets actually play football in New Jersey rather than New York.

It’s all a moot point anyway, because in a few years Tebow will be changing his dog’s name from Bronx to Blue Bomber when he winds up playing in the CFL.

For some reason Tony Nguyen, coach of the Western Conference All-Stars, took issue with something that occurred on the field after a kick sailed out of bounds, and the Minnesota Valkyrie coach went after the coach of the Eastern Conference All-Stars, Chandler Brown, whose day job is being the head man of the Philadelphia Passion.

There’s not much fight to speak of, just some shoving and grappling, but it did seem pretty heated, especially since it took place during a “f*cking All-Star game!” as Nguyen calls it, sounding eerily like the squeaky-voiced teen character from the Simpsons.

Video is NSFW for a ton of bad words and sexy women in their underwear, so turn down the volume and have the little ones leave the room…

If you love Nguyen’s passion as a head coach now, just imagine how tremendous he will be when he actually finishes puberty.

Bears QB and expecting father Jay Cutler was out walking his dog (judging by the size of that thing I’ll say it’s probably Kristin Cavallari’s pooch), when he was set upon by the paparazzi.  Pissed that his privacy was invaded once again, or that he was caught in public wearing sweatpants and walking a wee little dog, Cutler unleashed hell on the intrusive cameraman (cameramen?) with a well-timed middle finger—straight up and in broad daylight.

Not the most original of comebacks, but it got the job done.

Roger Goodell may be a hugging machine on draft night, but even the most experienced of embracers have their awkward moments where things don’t go as planned and you end up in a near lip-lock with a 6-foot-3, 346-pound nose tackle named Dontari Poe.  This was that moment for the commish.

The quarterback situation hasn’t been much to speak of the last 9 years or so, and if you don’t believe me, just read that list of names on buddy’s jersey there. From Patrick Ramsay to Rex Grossman and every retread in between, Washington QBs have been downright depressing.  But this jersey, like the Skins fortunes at the pivot position, may be a changing, thanks to the name that adorns the top of  this fan’s shirt.

Sure the question mark after RG3′s name is warranted, but at least there’s hope.
