Jim Driver, a lifelong Broncos fan, died this past Monday, the same day that his beloved team signed prized free agent QB Peyton Manning. The move was lauded by most football pundits, but according to Driver’s obituary, he’d rather be dead than see Denver sign Manning.

According to the NY Post’s Page 6, Tim Tebow has the hots for Dianna Agron, one of the stars of Fox’s hit show Glee. While I’m not surprised at his choice in ladies (Agron is 25 and hails from Savannah, Georgia), I am shocked that Tebow would watch Glee, what with its singing, dancing, thrusting, promiscuity, and unwed teenage pregnancy. Unfortunately for Tebow the lovely Agron is currently dating actor Sebastian Stan (Ed. note: ???), who I’m sure is a fine fellow in his own right, but if I’m laying money on this, I’m backing Tebow all the way. Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston is reporting that Patriots All-Pro left guard Logan Mankins underwent surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the weeks following New England’s loss to the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI. While that may not be big news in itself, it is pretty remarkable when you hear that Mankins tore that ACL early into the contest…and played the entire game despite the injury.

What’s an owner to do when you find out your team, along with the entire league, plans on going on strike on the eve of the season opener? Well, if you’re the owner of an Arena Football League team, you fire off the first salvo and release every player on your roster, preferably while they enjoy their pre-game meal at a local Olive Garden.
Friday night the Pittsburgh Power were dining at the venerable franchise in Orlando as they prepared to take on the hometown Predators, even though the players were planning on going on strike after the league and players union were unable to work out a salary increase for the footballers. Granted Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III had impressive showings at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine, but for my money the best performance in a combine-related capacity was put forth by the adorable Grace Trautner, a 3-year-old bundle of juice box driven energy from Wisconsin. This video her dad made of little Grace imitating the players at the combine is just terrific.
She’s got great technique and decent speed as she mimics the offensive lineman drills. I could definitely see Bill Belichick taking a flyer on Grace with a third round pick, but the only way she moves up to the first round would be if she were drafted by the Raiders, a distinct possibility if Al Davis were still alive. According to a report in the NY Post, Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow went out on a date with pop star Taylor Swift after the pair were spotted out for dinner at Toscanova Italian restaurant in Century City. The coupling, if it goes beyond a casual date into a full-fledged romance, would be a match made in wholesome, white teeth and flawless skin heaven. Separate they are cute as it is, but together they would be that sickeningly cute couple that everyone pretends to like but secretly hates behind their back because they just seem so damn perfect together that they put your sorry ass relationship to shame.
