• Here’s Wayne Gretzky looking pretty drunk in Greenville, North Carolina

  Wayne Gretzky, NHL legend and father of the gorgeous Paulina, was in Greenville, North Carolina last Tuesday, taking part in a charity golf tournament during the day, throwing out the first pitch at a minor league baseball game in the evening, and getting totally obliterated in a local bar at night.

  All in all a pretty full day for The Great One. And really, what else is there to do in Greenville than get drunk off your ass?

• Aussie ice hockey linesman leaves game after concussion, replaced by announcer

  A linesman officiating an Australian Ice Hockey League game between the Newcastle North Stars and Melbourne Ice (Ed. note: how was neither team named the Kangaroos or Wallabies?) was on the wrong end of an inadvertent elbow when Ice defenseman Chris “The Tank” Frank and North Stars forward Beau Taylor crashed into the boards.

  The linesman had to leave the game after sustaining a mild concussion and deep laceration to his index finger as a result of the collision. The dazed official skated off the ice to a smattering of applause, and the game continued on with the two remaining referees handling all the on-ice officiating duties.

• Susannah Collins fired by CSN Chicago following “tremendous amount of sex” comment

  Just two days following her hilarious, and totally innocent, on-air gaffe, in which she said the Chicago Blackhawks “had such a tremendous amount of sex,” reporter Susannah Collins has been fired by CSN Chicago. The network claims that Collins’ dismissal has nothing to do with her slip of the tongue during the live broadcast, but rather the attention that it brought to her from being featured on various websites and blogs, which shed light on previous sports related shows Collins was involved in, specifically a series of YouTube videos titled Sports Nutz, produced by Middlebrow Media. The videos, co-hosted by Collins, used rather “colorful” language, and sometimes pushed the boundaries of good taste. Read more ›
