Now that was intense, and just a little bit scary thanks to the slamming of bodies off the concrete floor.

The two teams involved in this wild and crazy lacrosse brawl were the Coquitlam Adanacs and the Nanaimo Timbermen, a pair of Inter A Canadian teams comprised of 16-18 year-olds.  What starts out as a simple line brawl quickly escalates into an all-out, benches clearing affair.  Thankfully order gets restored rather quickly due to the combined efforts of the officials and coaches from both sides.  Still, this was as wild as any brawl you will ever witness, lacrosse or otherwise, and I’m sure the fan in the stands would agree.

And in the end, after seeing the young men’s smiling faces, taunting, congratulatory chest bumps and sarcastic golf clapping, you might wish the scrap would have lasted a bit longer, with a few more meaningful face punches on both sides.

Wonder how long Roger Federer holds on to this before he puts it up for auction on eBay?

Roger Federer captured his third ATP Mutua Madrid Open on Sunday by defeating Tomas Berdych 3-6, 7-5, 7-5. With the win Federer vaults past rival Rafael Nadal to No.2 in the ATP ranking, which is nice, plus he got to take home a snazzy trophy, a sizeable winner’s check, as well as—and this is totally unrelated to anything in the world of tennis—one of Will Smith’s suits from Men in Black III.

Smith made the presentation himself following the match, in Spanish no less, as he and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith make the rounds in Europe promoting the third installment of the Men in Black franchise which is set to be released later this month.  No word on whether Federer is a close friend of Smith’s, or if he’s even a fan of the MIB  movies.  Hey, whether he’s both or neither, at least he got a free suit out of the deal.

Federer’s mannerisms and awkward thumbs up tells me that while he appreciates Smith’s gesture, a Ferrari would have been much nicer coming from a guy making $20 million a movie.

St. Thomas Aquinas was losing 15-5 at the time of the ejection/sucker punch, and would go on to lose the regional final 20-6.

St. Andrews attacker Jordan Todd was the unlucky recipient of Champion’s sucker punch.  The cheap shot leveled Todd and he lay on the turf for 20-30 seconds before getting back to his feet and finishing the game.

For his poor sportsmanship and questionable actions Champion was suspended from school and from athletics by the Florida High School athletic association.

St. Thomas’ athletic director George Smith was not pleased with Champion’s actions. “Poor sportsmanship is unacceptable of our students, athletes and parents. The student has been suspended from school for the remainder of the week, pending further disciplinary action by the Administrative Council,” he said.

Brutal.  Just brutal.  Whatever further punishment Champion receives is totally warranted, in my humble opinion.

I can’t even “Walk the Dog” without knotting up the string six times and nearly hanging myself, and this guy is pulling off the old tablecloth trick like some yo-you wielding boss.  And his stage name is Black?  Oh yeah, this guy is so swaggerific you can’t watch that video more than once, lest you pass out from all his awesomeness.

When you see the video you’ll understand why she’s hanging her head in shame.

Many of you probably didn’t know that tennis sensation Caroline Wozniacki did a little singing when’s she’s not underachieving on the tennis court.  Well she does, and now she’s released her first video for the single Oxygen.  Here’s a warning before you watch the video—it’s all techno and auto-tune and tennis references, and not even the endearing cuteness of Wozniacki can save this steaming pile of dreck.

Let’s just say as a pop music star, Wozniacki is a helluva tennis player.  And let me tell ya, she ain’t much of a tennis player.

Blech.  Needs more McIlroy.

Maybe Wozniacki should spend more time working on her tennis game, and less time making terrible music and equally terrible videos.  Just a thought.

Seeing this almost makes me feel better about the Easter Bunny being crucified for our sins.  Or something.

Located via our wonderful friends at Bob’s Blitz, as well as LOVE magazine, comes this truly spectacular video of Kate Upton in a barely-there Easter bunny outfit dancing provocatively to Peter Cottontail.  If this doesn’t represent the true meaning of the Easter holiday then I don’t know what does.

Kudos to Bob’s Blitz for doing the Lord’s work over there…kudos, I say.

Doing the worm, feeling the flow.  Working it…working it.

Apparently this is what happens at track meets in Hawaii, at least according to the title of the video. Having never been to a Hawaiian track meet, let alone the state of Hawaii, I’ll take their word for it. Ripping off the worm like a boss after falling near the finish line is probably the best, and only way to save face after such an embarrassing moment.

Sure beats the mainland way of falling on your face, crying like a baby, pretending you’re seriously injured, then suing your fellow racers for emotional and physical damage.

This poor high school wrestler is also in for a lengthy and grueling rehabilitation once doctors can get that leg pointed back in the proper direction.  Freak accidents happen in violent sports like wrestling, and that’s all that this is.  A gruesome, nauseating freak accident.

Ugh, it’s even worse when you see it in slow motion.  And people used to laugh at me for choosing the Chess team over wrestling in high school.  Taking a pawn in the eye is small potatoes compared to what we just watched.

Arceneaux was in the hold for 30-40 seconds but refused to tap out, until someone noticed the party host turning blue and made the teenager release his cousin from the choke hold.  Unfortunately the situation didn’t improve after that.

But at some point, someone noticed that Arceneaux was turning blue and told the youngster to release the hold. When he did, witnesses realized that Arceneaux had stopped breathing and dialed 911, shortly after 10 p.m.

Arceneaux’s girlfriend tried to revive him with CPR. He was transported to St. Charles Parish Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the bizarre incident, but so far no arrests have been made.  You know the 14-year-old must be completely devastated by what happened, and I doubt the fact that he executed a rear naked choke hold to perfection will help ease his pain.  Best to leave the sports entertainment to the hulking, spandex clad professionals.

Thomas was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public after leaping on to a parked police car with the officer sitting inside and yelling his name before running away.  Can’t say that I blame him, because Jesse James Thomas rivals only Rusty Kuntz and Razor Shines in the annals of all-time awesome names.   And what better way to shout said name to the masses than from the hood of a police cruiser.

It didn’t take long for cops to find Thomas, because really, how many men are running around in a sombrero and one boxing glove in the town of Sacramento these days?   Surprisingly there’s more than you’d think.

He then yelled his own name, jumped down and ran away. The jumper was easy to search for because he was described as wearing a dark puffy jacket, a sombrero and a boxing glove on one hand.

I’m just going to assume that the look on Thomas’ face in the mugshot was probably due to the police confiscating his sombrero and boxing glove.  Take a man’s big floppy Mexican hat and you take his very soul.
