Somewhere in the middle of giving up 49 unanswered points to the Patriots after jumping out to a 21-0 lead, Buffalo Bills cornerback Drayton Florence thought he’d try firing up his flailing defensive mates by trying to draw a flag with one of the most ridiculous flops ever witnessed. Obviously it didn’t work, but it was pretty fun watching Florence go flying through the air after the gentlest of nudges from New England offensive lineman Dan Connelly. I can only hope he was yelling “I regret nothing!” while airborne.
If they handed out awards for terrible flops like they do in soccer, Florence would win hands down. I’m just assuming that awards are given out in soccer for flopping and faking injuries. How else can you explain why so much of it exists in American football’s slightly effeminate cousin? Read more ›

The Buffalo Bills travel to Arlington, Texas this Sunday to take on the Dallas Cowboys at Jerry Jones’ monument to excess, the $1.3 billion Cowboys Stadium. For Bills RB Fred Jackson, the trip to Dallas is a homecoming, as the game will be played in the Fort Worth native’s old backyard.
Quite literally I might add.
See, when Jerry Jones decided to build Cowboys Stadium back in 2004 there were some houses that had to be razed in order to secure the land for Jones’ football palace. The New York Jets came into Orchard Park today and manhandled the hometown Buffalo Bills 27-11, which left both teams sitting at 5-3 on the year. The Jets dominated the Bills on both sides of the ball, and the score really wasn’t reflective of how one-sided this game actually was.
Still, Jets QB Mark Sanchez’s day may best be remembered for this rather laughable play late in the fourth quarter, when coach Rex Ryan decided to employ the Wildcat formation and have his quarterback line up at wide receiver. Sanchez found himself across from Bills DB Drayton Florence, and in a moment of hilarity, flinches like a newborn baby rabbit when Florence fakes that he’s going to initiate contact.
Sanchez, of course, laughs it off, then proceeds to get flagged for holding the Buffalo cornerback, thus ending the strangely comical sequence of events. Read more ›
If you still don’t understand the importance of drafting when it comes to fantasy football, wait until you hear the story of Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson’s wife. Let’s just say that when it came to drafting running backs, she didn’t put too much faith or value in her husband.
For the last few years Jackson has been one of the more underrated players in the league, quietly churning out productive seasons despite being undrafted out of tiny Coe College. This year, however, Jackson is putting up MVP type numbers and is a big reason the Bills are 5-2 and perched atop the AFC East. Still, his last couple of seasons of viable fantasy production didn’t sway his wife into picking him in her fantasy draft this year until the 5th round.

Ah the life of the backup quarterback. They’re equal parts cheerleader and assistant quarterbacks coach, with the emergency preparedness of a noble boy scout, and while most don’t get to see any action outside of garbage time, at least they are paid handsomely for their efforts.
But every once in a while the unthinkable happens, and the opportunity arises during a crucial moment in a game when, thanks to injury, the backup QB is called upon to take over for the starter and lead his team to victory. Backup QBs live for this moment, so when it actually happens, you can understand why they might be a bit distracted.
Take Bills backup Tyler Thigpen for instance. During the game in Toronto against the Washington Redskins, starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was the recipient of a rather nasty hit from Skins LB London Fletcher. Thigpen began warming up in anticipation of going in for Fitzpatrick, and during a momentary lapse in concentration, ended up taking a ball to the head. Read more ›
Former Buffalo Bills coach Marv Levy, who led the team to four consecutive Super Bowl appearances in the early 90s, has been busy in retirement, penning a fictional novel titled Between the Lies. Fictional or not, Levy has written about what he knows best, football, only in his story there’s a curious twist when it comes to the Super Bowl.
It’s rigged.
Before you start flying off the handle that Between the Lies is a conspiracy laden, veiled reference to Levy’s Bills teams, and the fact that they lost all four of their chances at the Lombardi Trophy, think again.
