• How tough is Logan Mankins? He played through Super Bowl XLVI with torn ACL

  Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston is reporting that Patriots All-Pro left guard Logan Mankins underwent surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the weeks following New England’s loss to the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI.  While that may not be big news in itself, it is pretty remarkable when you hear that Mankins tore that ACL early into the contest…and played the entire game despite the injury.

• Here’s video of Rob Gronkowski tearing up the dance floor after losing the Super Bowl

  Following their Super Bowl XLVI loss to the New York Giants, Rob Gronkowski and Matt Light decided the best way to ease the sting of losing the biggest game of their careers was to take off their shirts and dance onstage with the members of LMFAO at New England’s post-game party (head to Deadspin for more pictures).  For some reason I think a huge chunk of Patriots Nation will have a problem with this.  And to those people I say—have you not seen the original Footloose?  Kevin Bacon’s angry dancing was cleansing to the soul.

• Today in questionable taunting: Patriots fans roast effigy of Eli Manning on a spit

  What you’re about to see in the following video (courtesy our friends at Sweater Punch), is exactly what it looks like in the picture—a life-sized effigy of Eli Manning being roasted on a spit above a burning automobile representing the New York Giants, that has presumably been destroyed by a Ford Bronco adorned with the Patriots logo.

  The whole set-up is pretty clever, although I doubt that anyone outside of a cannibalistic tribe in New Guinea would be interested in munching on a piece of roast Eli Manning.  From what I’ve heard human flesh is tough and gamey and doesn’t taste a thing like chicken, and I can only venture a guess that Eli’s roast flesh would be bland and flavorless, much like Eli himself. • “The Gronk Song” is so Gronktastically Bad it’s Good…Or Something in Between

  Unless you’re one of the Beastie Boys or Eminem, white guys shouldn’t rap, and geeky white guys with full beards should never, ever rap about Rob Gronkowski, or even sports in general.  They lack the proper enzymes or chromosomes or something that allows them to drop sick rhymes and whatnot.  It’s just science.

  Still, there’s something to be said about “The Gronk Song,” a lyrical tribute to the Patriots superb tight end.  It’s not the best fan tribute song out there, but I do believe it’s the first, and only, one to feature the phrase “Gronk boner.”  I’m not 100% sure what a “Gronk boner” is, but I have a feeling if I ever got one I’d know it right away.  And I also have a feeling it would be very, very unpleasant.
