The Jacksonville Jaguars draft war room sadder than a Kirk Cameron birthday party

Here’s what the Jaguars’ draft war room looks like as compared to a few other NFL teams’ war rooms. Once you see it, you’ll understand why Jacksonville has had so much success these past few years…

RGIII in trademark dispute with RG3 over the use of RG3 and/or RGIII
In NFL
This article is the work of guest blogger Felipe Diaz, a fine and enthusiastic young man from the great state of Wisconsin who is currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee studying Film Production and Marketing.
Confused yet?
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III ran into an unforeseen hurdle this offseason, and it has nothing to do with his rehabilitating from knee surgery. When the quarterback attempted to have his nicknames “RGIII” and “RG3” trademarked a company that makes suspension parts for motorcycles moved to block his filings. As we all know, merchandising is big business for professional athletes, especially charismatic quarterbacks like Griffin III, who are adept at throwing the long ball, while possessing the ability to rip off 76 yard runs. Andrew Luck’s cell phone belongs in some kind of communications museum
In NFL
From what I can tell from watching interviews, press conferences, and assorted appearances is that Colts QB Andrew Luck isn’t a flashy, in-your-face type of guy. He doesn’t do a zillion commercials like his predecessor Peyton Manning, he doesn’t wed and impregnate (so far as I know) world famous supermodels like Tom Brady, he doesn’t rock the body ink like Colin Kaepernick, and he hasn’t demonstrated the same swagger level as Robert Griffin III.Know what else Luck doesn’t have in common with, say, every other quarterback in the league? A cell phone that was made this century.
Thanks to his newly signed backup, Matt Hasselbeck, it was revealed that the budding young superstar signal caller for the Colts still uses an ancient—and somewhat dinged up—Samsung flip phone, which is a rather odd choice for someone making $5.5 million a season, with a $14.5 million signing bonus (Ed. note: Luck previously spoke proudly of owning a cheap cell phone). It doesn’t appear to be so old that it still requires an antenna, so he’s got that going for him. Read more ›

NFL hopeful gives up football to re-enlist in Marines following Boston Marathon attacks
In NFL
Over a decade ago Arizona Cardinals safety Pat Tillman sacrificed his NFL career to join the Army Rangers following the attacks of 9/11, and now, following the tragedy that unfolded at the Boston Marathon this past Monday, current NFL hopeful Brandon O’Brien is giving up his shot at playing football to re-enlist with the Marines.O’Brien, a wide receiver at Montana State Northern University, previously served four years in the military before joining the Frontier Conference school. The 30-year-old was a huge longshot to even make the NFL at his age, but still kept his dream alive by training with Athletes Performance Institute. He was hoping that that, along with some impressive times in the 40-yd dash and short shuttle (4.56 and 4.08 seconds respectively), would be enough to garner some attention from NFL teams that might look to draft him, or sign him as an undrafted rookie, as a special teams player. With a mere 12 days until the 2013 NFL draft, it seems as if every person with an inkling of interest in football has come out with their own version of a mock draft, and we here at Last Angry Fan are no different. And why should we be? Mock drafts are fun, interesting, thought provoking, and a great way for readers to deride me for my ridiculous picks and lack of football knowledge.
Enjoy. Read more ›

Former Titans cheerleader accused of sexually assaulting pre-teen boy
In NFL
Pictured here is Elizabeth Garner, a former Tennessee Titans cheerleader who is facing a number of charges related to an incident that took place at a friend’s house party where Garner allegedly followed a 12-year-old boy into the bathroom and tried to perform oral sex on him, albeit unsuccessfully. It’s alleged that the married 42-year-old, who last suited up as a cheerleader for the NFL franchise back in 2009, fondled the boy through his pants before attempting to remove them. The unidentified minor managed to escape the bathroom before Garner was able to get his pants off. -
