Here’s the Jaguars mascot nailing the 17th hole island green at TPC Sawgrass in full costume
One of the more daunting shots in golf is hitting the island green at No.17 during The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. The vast majority of PGA pros have no problem sticking it on the green due to their exceptional skill level, but I bet none of them have ever hit the green while wearing a mascot outfit like Chris Dvorak did this past weekend.
Who’s Chris Dvorak you ask? He’s the rather athletic gentleman who has donned the costume of Jaxson de Ville, the Jags mascot, since 1996. Did I mention Dvorak has a 2 handicap? Yeah, there’s that too.
During Wednesday’s practice round Dvorak caddied for Jim Furyk on the back nine, and when their group reached the 17th, Dvorak was given a challenge by Andres Romero’s caddie that he couldn’t’ hit the island green dressed as Jaxson de Ville.
